Our mission at Aikido Ryugikan is to help you find Aiki through Martial Arts, Self Defense, Weapons, Budo and Aikido training. Aiki is the way of Harmony within yourself and all around you.

Unlike Judo, Jiu-jitsu, Karate, Kendo, Kung Fu, Kick Boxing, MMA, Taekwondo & Tai Chi; Aikido is non-aggressive, non-competitive and fun for the whole family!

Instructors

Our instructors are experienced! Graham Shihan 6th Degree Black Belt with over 20 years of experience in Aikido has lived in Japan for 10 years and has trained/lived/taught at the Aikido Yoshinkan Head Quarters in Tokyo, Japan. Former Director for 3 years of the International Senshusei Instructors' Course and first Uchi-Deshi to Yasuhisa Shioda, he is the only Canadian who has been Uchi-Deshi (live-in-student). A 6th Degree Black Belt in AYF Aikido Yoshinkan Foundation , 1st Degree Black Belt in Aikikai Honbu Dojo and 1st Degree Black Belt in Kendo you will get top instruction. Fun to work with and completely professional, Graham-Sensei is ready to guide you on your Aikido Path!

Aikido Ryugikan Dojo

Ryugikan is a registered Dojo (school) with the AYF Aikido Yoshinkan Foundation, Tokyo, Japan. Located in Whitby across from the movie theatre on the corner of Consumers and Sunray. Our facility features state-of-the-art equipment, a beautiful training area with padded mats, and is clean and comfortable for safe training. Hope to see you on the mats soon!
